We’re thrilled to report Walter has been adopted and he has also been given a clean bill of health by Dr. Holsworth of VetSurg.

Thank you to everyone who donated towards Walter’s care. A special thank you to CARL volunteer Terry who sponsored Walter.

Walter

Walter is a young Poodle who is new to the CARL program. He was hit by a car and has a broken leg in 3 places, injuries to his paws and road rash on his stomach from being dragged on the road. His owners were found, but he was relinquished to the vet on the condition they did not have to pay for any of his existing vet bills. Walter is currently in a foster home while he waits to get the surgery he desperately needs to repair his leg. His initial vet exam, medication and radio-graphs were $500. His leg surgery which will require pins and/or plates is estimated to cost $6,000. This does not include additional medication he may need, follow up exams and physical therapy. Please don’t give up on Walter, help him regain the use of his leg.

Walter continues to heal from his surgery to fix his leg. He goes in regularly to get his bandage changed. He gets around rather well even with the cast on. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to his medical bills.

June 9, 2016 update

He is doing ok. Not feeling very well the last two days. I think he is getting tired of being penned up and possibly feeling sick from all the pain killers. He goes to the Vet every other day. They keep him until they can check him out and change the bandages. He is always depressed when he comes out. He goes back to Vetsurg tomorrow and is suppose to have his surgery Monday, June 13. It was suppose to be today but the cuts to his leg were so deep that they have to heal better before they can do the surgery to fix the broken bones in the same leg.
