Open Your Heart, Open Your Home: Foster a CARL Dog!
At Canine Adoption and Rescue League, our foster homes are the lifeblood of our rescue work. By welcoming a rescue dog into your home, you provide a safe, loving environment that prepares them for their ultimate destination: a permanent, loving family.
Why Fostering Makes All the Difference
Fostering does so much more than just give a dog a temporary place to sleep. It is a critical stepping stone to adoption:
- Real-World Socialization: Unlike a traditional shelter environment, foster homes allow dogs and puppies to learn how to live in a house, routine, and neighborhood.
- The “Undercover” Intel: As a foster parent, you get to know the real dog. You help us learn if they are house-trained, how they behave around kids, cats, or other dogs, and if they have silly habits like digging or jumping. This data helps us find their perfect forever match!
- Behavioral Support: Close daily observation gives us a chance to work through minor behavioral quirks in a stress-free environment before they become permanent habits.
We Provide the Supplies. You Provide the Love.
Think you can’t afford to foster? Think again! Fostering is 100% free.
CARL provides each foster family with:
- Nutritional dog food
- Full veterinary care and medications
- Training assistance and mentorship
Your only job is to provide a safe, secure home environment and plenty of love.
Ready to Make a Difference?
The only requirements to become a CARL foster parent are a love for animals, a dedication to helping dogs in need, and a secure home. It is an incredibly rewarding experience for both you and the dog.
