Who are we?

Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL) is an IRS 501(c) (3) Private Non-Profit No-Kill Organization. Project Second Chance is dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of orphaned dogs and puppies. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our dogs.

Where do our dogs come from?

The dogs in our care were given up by their owners, abandoned, or rescued from the pound. While awaiting their forever homes, the dogs are housed by generous volunteer foster families or at our boarding/kennel facility.

What is our purpose?

The goal of Project Second Chance is to match dogs with homes that are well suited to their needs, temperament, age, and energy level. The dogs are fostered or kept at our boarding/kennel facility until an appropriate permanent home is found.

What about the dogs' health?

While the dogs are in Project Second Chance, CARL provides necessary veterinary treatment, vaccinations (distemper/parvo, rabies) and worming, when appropriate. All dogs are spayed or neutered as part of the adoption agreement.
