CARL Recognizes Pooch Parade Sponsors

CARL recognizes local businesses who save the lives of dogs at the 19th Annual Pooch Parade
Ventura, CA – July 1, 2016 – Canine Adoption and Rescue League (CARL) today recognized and thanked the major sponsors of the 19th Annual Pooch Parade, a major fundraising event taking place July 17th at San Buenaventura State Beach.
The Pooch Parade, held annually since 1997, is an institution in the Ventura County animal rescue community. The centerpiece of the event is the Parade itself, a 3-mile fundraising walk for dogs and their owners. Each year, thousands of people attend the free event to watch as approximately 250 dogs march from San Buenaventura State Beach to Surfer’s Point and back.
The rest of the fun-filled day is spent with food trucks, a photo booth, a silent auction, pet-related vendors, and dog contests such as “Most Obedient” and “Best Kisser”. This year, beachgoers will also enjoy a free concert by Ventura County blues legends Kelly’s Lot and performances by wandering magician The Amazing Dave.

Proceeds from the fundraising walk, silent auction, photo booth, and merchandise sales help sustain CARL’s all-breed, no-kill dog rescue operations. As a leader among local animal rescues, CARL provides crucial support to Ventura County Animal Services in keeping the county no-kill. The Pooch Parade raises a large portion of CARL’s annual operating expenses, allowing the organization to save the lives of hundreds of dogs each year.
Registrations for the Pooch Parade fundraising walk are open until the morning of the event. Registration is $45, and includes a commemorative t-shirt and entry to all contests. To register online and save $5, visit http://poochparade.org.
