Greetings,

Last year Ventura County Animal Services received a $24,000 grant to have the AKC (American Kennel Club) build and assemble two Pet Disaster Relief Trailers (pictured above) which can be deployed in the event of a natural disaster. Members of the public who have pets and are evacuated during a natural disaster can bring their personal pets to the designated location (usually the Ventura County Fairgrounds) where the trailer will be expanded and a command center established to intake and care for people’s pets until the crisis is over.

A single trailer is packed with over 10,000 items. One trailer will be kept at the Camarillo Shelter the other at the Simi Valley Shelter.

You are invited to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to show off the contents of this custom trailer on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. This invitation is extended to the general public as well as county leaders and elected officials.

We hope you all can attend.

All The Best,
Randy Friedman
